Our Process

  • First Step: Please start the sign up process for the DfD Lowertown Dog Walking services by completing and submitting our dog walking preregistration forms packet. 

  • Second Step: We will review the information you have provided in the preregistration packet and then call you to set up a time to meet you and your dog(s). This preliminary in home meeting is important because it gives you and your pet the opportunity to meet your “walker” and often another key DfD employee. We will also review / discuss the information you have provided as well as the walking service / schedule you desire and become familiar with any special needs your walker will be fulfilling (water, food, meds, etc.). Note: We provide these extras for no additional fee, however, if meds are required by injection please inform us so we can assign a “walker” familiar with this process. And make sure the medical administration portion of the packet is completed.

  • Third Step: Either at the end of the preliminary meeting (given an agreed upon comfort level) or whenever you would like to start the service we will need to address and become familiar with any processes for having your walker access your home. We require two sets of home access/entrance keys so that both your assigned walker and the DfD Saint Paul store has a set. We need the extra set so that other DfD employees can fill in for your designated walker given vacation / sick days or some other issue which takes your walker out of commission.   

  • Fourth Step: Final arrangements; Our Lowertown Dog walking service can be set up and prepaid for on either weekly or monthly basis. So you will need to let us know which payment plan you prefer and how you would like to pay (cash, check, or credit/debit card). In addition we will review all the service registration / release forms to make sure everything is in order and approved.

  • Fifth Step: Your dog walking service starts and continues based on the agreed upon schedule. Note: If you need to change your dog walking schedule or take a week off just let us know by the previous Friday. Your walker will leave you a completed DfD Dog Walker Confirmation & Information sheet (see below) after each walk so that you have confirmation and are aware of any observed issues.
